Smoke-Free Illinois Act
On July 23, 2007, Governor Rod Blagojevich signed the Smoke-Free Illinois Act, which bans smoking indoors in all public places. This new law, which will become effective on January 1, 2008, prohibits smoking in a public place or in any place of employment or within 15 feet of any entrance to a public place or place of employment.
